The hobby of homebrewing beer

Homebrew Tasting At The Office

With the end of the year fast approaching, I knew I would have a good amount of beer in my basement.  Knowing that ‘Tis the season for giving, I brought in 12 bottles of beer for my coworkers to try.

I had two beers from the Master of Lagers series and the Dusseldorf Alt.

Since the Vienna Lager  and the Bohemian Pilsner had rich histories, I put together a powerpoint presentation.  Yeah, it was that nerdy but people appreciated the effort and the information.  Plus it helped me to remember things I wanted to say while I talked about the beers.

I had slides with notes about the aroma, appearance, and flavors.  We went through them all to see if they tasted what the guidelines described.

All and all, it was a good time.  It’s always a gamble to bring your beer out for a public tasting, but I felt it was well received.

It is indeed scary to share your beer, especially pulicly, but the validation is great. I love the powerpoint idea… but I’m pretty nerdy, myself.
