Good question:

For some info on brewing in an apartment, check out this article:

http://www.thefrostedbrew.com/featured/stuck-in-an-apartment-you-can-still-brew/

As for time, he'll make the time. Seriously though, if you are just starting out, extract brews only take about 4 to 6 hours of brew/bottling time from start to drinking.

Hi, I'm thinking about getting my boyfriend a starter kit for Christmas this year but A. we don't have a ton of room in our apt and B. he works a lot SO I was just wondering how much room and time a home brewing kit realistically takes up

Another good link is http://www.makebeer.net/

This site is owned by Cascadia importers who distribute Coopers home-brew products in the US .

The Coopers Brewing Kit even comes with PET Bottles and is the perfect kit for the begginer because it comes with Hopped Extract .
